Happy New Year from Aiken Today --
Aiken is really feeling the chill, not as bad as some colder areas of the country, but this week it certainly doesn't feel much like the South! The tree limb's are bare, much of the countryside's beautiful rolling pastures have that winter "brown" look and it seems that the best place to spot green is on Aiken's golf courses. Even in these cold temps, there are golfers out there braving the chill.
The days are brisk and sunny, while the nights have dipped down into the teens and there's even a forecast calling for a 50% chance of snow and/or sleet tomorrow night. Not exactly the norm for Aiken.
So stay warm, have a cup of hot chocolate, throw another log on the fire. And if you do have do be out on the roads, take very good care not only in case of snow or sleet, but for any unexpected "black ice."
